Christmas Party Day at Derwent Manor Hotel

The Derwent Manor is set in 40 acres overlooking the Derwent Valley, enjoy a 3 course lunch, entertainment, bingo, raffle then mince pie/coffee or tea before we leave.

Last year nearly 50 members enjoyed a great day out, excellent food, great entertainment and lots of fun with Chris Cooper Travel and the staff

Enjoy a day out to Penrith, have a stroll around this lovely Market Town before having a two course lunch at Foundry 34, we will have a stop at the lovely Mainsgill Farm to stock up on fresh meats, bread, cakes as well as browse the gorgeous gift shop

The Teviot Smokery and Afternoon Tea at the Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso

The Teviot Smokery isn’t just smoked foods, the 3-tier Teviot Water Gardens lie on the banks of the River Teviot. Designed and planted in 1990, the aim was to create a peaceful and beautiful garden mirroring the expanse of water below and also has a tranquil walk along the river.

With the Gift Shop, Food Hall and Coffee Shop also to visit there is something here for everyone.

After our visit to the Smokery we will then head off to the Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso for afternoon tea before heading home via the Coastal Route.

Castle Howard Flower Festival

Enjoy a lovely day out to this fabulous flower festival; we will have a comfort stop en-route and then plenty of time to visit the House and Gardens. On arrival if needed; there will be land transport with ramped access to take people to the House entrance and between other locations.  Inside the house there is a lift to the main floor of the house.

Castle Howard’s grand interiors will play host to an array of spectacular floral displays from contemporary to traditional displays each taking inspiration from it slavish surroundings and of course the beautiful gardens will be in full bloom. In the Boar Garden, live music will take place while you sup Pimms or enjoy Strawberries and cream

Abbey's, Borders, Castles & Coast Tour with Lunch

9.00am depart Civic Centre Gateshead 
We will travel to Jedburgh for a coffee/comfort stop where you will see the prominent abbey ruins, Travel on to view Melrose Abbey and the spectacular Floors Castle en route to your 3 course lunch at the Cross Keys Hotel, Kelso, after lunch you will have time for a browse around the town before heading back down the beautiful coast taking in Bamburgh & Seahouses.

Yorkshire Tour

Leave Civic Centre Gateshead at 9.00am to arrive in  Guisborough for a Coffee stop at 10.45.
Leave at 
12.00 noon for the short journey to the Lion Inn Hotel, Blakely for a 2 course lunch.
We will leave at about 2.30pm and spend some time in Helmsley on our return.
The Lion Inn Hotel at Blakely is the highest point on the North Yorkshire Moors National Park, so views will be great.

Northumberland Tour

Cost £5 per member £8 non member

After a very short journey we will have a coffee stop at Boundary Mills and for those who want to have a look around for some bargains can do, we will then go to Woodhorn at Ashington, home of the famous paintings by the Pitmen Painters as well as other fascinating local exhibits, then a drive up to the coast to Morpeth for a look around.
