Get inspired by last years walks:

30th January 2015

A small group of walkers braved the cold and had a very enjoyable walk around Saltwell Park, enjoying the beautiful scenery and learning some of the history.
This was followed by soup and coffee in Saltwell Towers Café.

27th February 2015

As the weather was unsettled the walking group decided to meet at Saltwell Park once again and enjoy a different route around the park. Retreating to the Towers Café for shelter and a warm cuppa. The walk was about 1 to 1 and half miles and suitable for everyone.

27th March 2015

We had a lovely walk around the park with the 'Friends of Saltwell Park' who told us some interesting facts about the park that we maybe didn't know.

May and July 2015

We met at Staiths Cafe and walked along the River Tyne, firstly to the Swing Bridge and return, then our next walk we headed upstream, taking in the history of the Statyhs. Both were very interesting and we finished having lunch at the Staiths Cafe. Each walk was about 2 miles.

June 2015

We had a lovely summer day, yes there was one, as we headed off on the Derwent Walk , after walking down to the lake and watching the wonderful wildlife, the walker then headed off to the Red Kite Pub for some much needed refreshments.

September 2015

The walkers took in the beauty at Watergate Forest Park, followed by lunch.

October 2015

Walk along Tyne starting at the Skiff near MetroCentre, this was an interesting walk and lovely to see the wildlife along the river.  We walked for about 2 miles then had refreshments.
