It's wet and a bit windy, good job we're in a coach!
Allison has set a 30 question quiz, oh joy. The driver seems to know what he's doing, he's driving a coach! The passangers are restless. Ron's reading the telly pages.
I'm Mandy fly me! (Airline advert from the Stone Age.) Tea, coffee and biscuits on board and music too. Time for a rest break and a coffee.
Sunday and time for church, nearest is just up the road, All Saints, very friendly and tea afterwards.
Eastbourne has a very long history stretching back to Celtic times in 500BC. It wasn't until the 19th century that, with the help of local landowners William Cavendish and John Gilbert, the town was really established.
Eastbourne Pier. Having chips for lunch. Local home made transport.
A panoramic view of the pier.
A view of the Wish Tower. A round bandstand type building thingy, music is pretty good by all accounts. How the pier is held up. Camera Obscura is a pier thing!
Fishing at the end of the pier. Stuff on the pier. Showing fearless courage.
Views to the west pier.
View to the west pier. View to east of the pier. (No I don't know why there's five one way and only one the other way.) Nice garden near Eastbourne pier.
Monday sees us visit The Bluebell Railway.
The spacious restaurant offers a choice of menu with excellent traditional English cuisine and an á la carte selection. The food was excellent and enjoyed by all. The staff was friendly and efficient. (I get paid for this endorsement 8-))
19 very happy dinners and so are the ACG members eating them!
On Eastbourne's promenade is a large bandstand. Missed the entrance the other day.
In Eastbourne its blue skies and sunshine. Its take the bus to Beachy Head day. Welcome to Beachy Head sign, it's a sign of the times or was that the express? Up here its a bit dull today.
A few shots of Beachy Head lighthouse.
Our visit to the Carr Taylor Vineyard.
Our trip to Beachy Head.
Holiday Olympic Party Page.
The staff are so relieved that we are leaving they are out waving flags! (Oh and they are still upside down.)
As we join the M25, the world's largest carpark. But not today, it is quiet just now. South bound it is a bridge across the Thames, (Clockwise). North bound it is a tunnel.
