Welcome to High House Brewery - A business based in rural Northumberland dedicated to the production of traditional beers and ales of the very finest quality.
The brewery was founded in 2003 by Steven Urwin on the family farm of Matfen High House. Located in a converted grain store, the brewery and offices provide a modern and efficient business base with its roots very much grounded in history and tradition.
After the beers initial launch at the 2003 Tyneside Beer Festival, demand and praise for these traditional ales throughout the region has been very strong indeed - proof if ever it were needed, that the true beer enthusiast appreciates quality above all else.
Today, High House Farm Brewery has both the capacity, ability and enthusiasm to take its beers to a wider appreciative audience - Don't hesitate to contact them if you would like to discuss stocking any of our range of fine ales.
The beers have already begun to win awards including CAMRA Regional Awards and SIBA Regional and National Awards.
They can also supply beers from their brewery for your special occasion in the North East, including “party packs” in traditional beer boxes, in 10 litres (17 pints), 20 litres (36 pints) or full casks including a tap and spile in 40 litres (72 pints). They can also supply beer glasses.
High House Farm Brewery has also developed a bottling facility alongside the brewery, and all three beers are now offered as bottled beers in various outlets.
Brewed using only the very finest English ingredients, three beers currently available from High House Farm Brewery are single hopped and are named after the farm's trusted collie dogs.
The beers have won awards including CAMRA Regional Awards and SIBA Regional and National Awards.
The first beer brewed at High House Farm is Auld Hemp ABV 3.8% a fine amber coloured traditional bitter with a fresh malty aroma. It is a true session beer that delivers a highly rewarding drink. Because it is, "The Original" High House Farm beer it has a unique and unmistakable flavour all of its own.
Goldings Hops blended with the finest English malt produces this golden coloured premium ale, Nel's Best ABV 4.2%, very pleasant to drink, not overly bitter and easy on the pallet.
Serious ale drinkers will enjoy all this full bodied ale has to offer and it is no surprise that word is spreading fast throughout the real ale fraternity.
Matfen Magic ABV 4.8% is a brown ale, hopped with a combination of Fuggles and Brambling Cross. This traditional premium ale has a beautiful aroma of blackberries and autumn fruits, with malty and chocolate overtones.
