A Fun Family Event that a lot of you joined in:
~ ~ The Arthuritis Bear Stroll ~ ~
We had fun, got some gentle excercise, enjoyed some free fruit and our "award winning" park.
We raised awareness and funds for our branch.
This park was known as The People’s Park, when it first opened in 1876, it was designed to give the impression that it stretched as far as the eye could see. Following a £10m restoration project, it has been restored to its former splendour, winning numerous awards along the way.
Sprawling over 55 acres, the park encompasses landscapes, woodland, ornamental gardens, play areas, bowling greens, an animal house, a lake and a maze.
At the heart sits Saltwell Towers once a Victorian mansion, a Grade II listed building it's now a visitor centre and café.
The early starter. "And did those feet in ancient time", to the sound of hymn music. The end's in sight. Our Fund Raiser in Chief.
Ron on his bear walk / ride. Nice shot of a swan. Three and a half times around the lake is a mile.
Phew glad thats over, time to enjoy a nice piece of fruit. Sonya, Paul and the invisable man on their bear stroll. Sonya deserves a medal.
